Divorce and separation law
Divorce and separation law governs the legal, financial and personal consequences of the end of a relationship, whether marital or cohabiting. Our firm assists couples and families in these often delicate and sensitive situations, where financial issues are frequently compounded by questions concerning children and the organisation of future life. We act both in seeking amicable solutions and in the litigious defence of our clients' interests.
FORI Avocat·e·s SA advises and represents those wishing to separate, divorce or dissolve their registered partnership, on all the resulting questions: measures for the protection of the marital union, interim measures, liquidation of the matrimonial property regime (in particular the winding-up of joint ownership), division of occupational pension assets (LPP), maintenance contributions between spouses and for children, as well as all the tax aspects related to the separation.
Our firm also assists parents in setting up arrangements relating to parental authority, custody and contact rights, favouring agreement and mediation where this serves the interests of the child and of the parties. Where an agreement is not possible, we defend our clients before the competent authorities and courts with the same rigour.
Thanks to regular practice in family litigation and a fine knowledge of the Geneva courts, we offer support that is both humane and pragmatic, adapted to each family situation, whether anticipating a separation, negotiating an agreement or bringing a case before the courts. In every case, our objective remains the same: to allow this difficult stage of life to unfold as quickly and as calmly as possible.
