Agricultural and rural land law (LDFR)

The practice area

Thanks to its in-depth experience in this particular area of law, FORI Avocat·e·s SA assists farmers, rural landowners and public authorities in applying the LDFR: authorisations to acquire agricultural property, exemption procedures, subdivision and partition procedures for agricultural undertakings, calculations of yield values and the maximum charge, and the exercise of pre-emption rights. We also act in agricultural leases (LBFA), whether in relation to their conclusion, termination or disputes concerning rural leases.

Our knowledge of the specifics of Geneva rural law also enables us to represent our clients before the administrative authorities and the courts in the event of a challenge to a decision under rural land law or the planning of agricultural zones.

Finally, we represent farmers, tenant farmers or heirs in all disputes that may arise regarding the transfer of an agricultural undertaking, whether inter vivos or by succession.
